There are also some opportunities which will be common. That's what this page is really about. A little insight to provoke thought and hopefully exploration into what you might be able to become increasingly aware of and possibly even begin to tweak on your own.

4-D wellbeing

When it comes to achieving our true potential, we need to identify and deal with the inteference which gets in our way. Some of this interference is external and actually much of it is internal. Some examples of internal interferences are limiting beliefs, lack of confidence, the internal critic, people pleasing, fear of failure, perfectionism etc. It takes energy to overcome these interferences and our wellbeing is where this energy comes from. So if we're serious about this, we need to prioritise and invest in our wellbeing.

There are usually so many opportunities to cultivate your wellbeing, to improve your energy, not to mention your quality of life. It's important to ensure that you're regularly investing in each of the four dimensions to find balance and strength.

Taming the beast

One of the toughest challenges in accessing our true potential is overcoming our deep fears. Many of these fears relate to our irrational and subconscious extrinsic needs. Extrinsic because they pertain to how we’re perceived by those outside of us. They relate to our deep primal need to belong and therefore to be accepted ... to “be enough”. They’re the needs that relate to our greatest vulnerabilities; the needs that necessitate the emotional armour; the mask that we present to the world ... our super ego.

Our ego reflects our great inauthenticity, as it usually manifests as the opposite of our authentic fear. Our fear of feeling stupid or not being heard, presents as our ‘needing to be right’. Our fear of being helpless or feeling out of control presents as our ‘need to exert power or control over others’. Our fear of feeling insignificant presents as our ‘need to be better than others’. And all of this just to feel that we’re “enough”.

Unfortunately results will never feel "enough" and satisfying the need of the ego is like chasing shadows; always missing and never fulfilled. It's exhausting, it damages our relationships and it gets in the way.

To access our full potential, we need to tame the beast; we need to dial back the ego so we can dial up the mojo
