Day 10 - Voluntary Lock Down

Gotta get moving a little quicker this morning. Woke my daughter at 8am so she could get on top of things (yesterday was a bit shaky; an adjustment, with her friends now online). While she got up, I checked out the online yoga. Looked pretty good. Didn't practice though. Maybe next time.

Spent the morning getting repeatedly kicked off MyGov. I have the time. This just seems like an incredible waste of it.

Had a call from the day surgery to re-confirm my vasectomy is going ahead on Friday. Mixed emotions about that. Mostly I was amazed that this could be considered an "essential" use of medical PPE ... and besides, I thought the universe had been conspiring to save me. Oh well.

That meant I needed to reschedule a coaching session, which actually was of benefit to my client. Good stuff!

My daughter was coming in on a semi-regular basis and relating funny stories that made absolutely no sense to me and was making my ears bleed a bit. But then I realised that the poor little thing's a super extrovert and was dealing with extended isolation from ... everyone.

She just needed me to be there. I could do that.

Spent a little time writing the Day 9 blog and then had another call from the day surgery. Oh awesome. I wanted to call them actually, to see if I could do my pre-consult, this afternoon, virtually via Zoom or something. Seemed quite unnecessary to do it face to face. But she was calling for a different reason. Apparently the surgery had been cancelled, as it wasn't considered to be essential. W-T-F?

To make matters worse, she said I could still come in and have my pre-consult with the surgeon. FFS. What a balls up!

But now, with the afternoon cleared a little, I leapt at the opportunity to get out and rip into the table. I sanded both sides of the table top and all the way to superfine. OMG it was so beautiful. Timeless beauty.

The sun was nearly down and I'd promised we'd go for a bike ride, so cleaned up and off we went. So glad we did. It was beautiful and I needed the exercise as much as she did.

Once home I had the best idea! She could cook dinner for me!

That gave me the opportunity to get back on MyGov (hopefully it'd be quicker while others were having dinner). I'd practically finished my claim the day before but was just trying to check and correct things and that had literally been taking hours as I was going around the loop of being kicked off, finding my way back, being kicked off, then finding my way back, making a small correction, then being kicked off, then finding my way back, being kicked off etc etc etc. Anyway, this time I figured fuck it! You can't say I haven't tried to get this right. Submit! Complete. Yesssss!!

Next step ... 16 "Required" documents, tasks and paperwork-uploads that I needed to complete before my claim will be assessed. Are you fucking kidding me?!!

Dinner was awesome! Honestly, I'd been putting that meal off because it looked really ordinary. However, my daughter had knocked it out of the park. So clever!

We watched 100 Humans again. I know I said we'd used that up yesterday. But we were recycling, OK?

Had a call from my ex to say my daughter had her orthodontist appointment in the morning at 7.30am, to get her spacers fitted and mould done from her braces. What? Seriously? That's essential?

Oh well. Bed time I guess. After meditation ...
